Heartland Institute – Reaching and Motivating Today’s Youth
Heartland’s outreach efforts through the Heartland Institute provide schools and youth organizations with an additional tool they can use to achieve their educational, leadership and character development goals.
Your support continues to make these efforts possible, with the goal of positively impacting youth through media and helping a new generation of filmmakers in their efforts to bring powerful and inspiring stories to life.
Heartland High School Film Competition
Launched in 2010, the Heartland High School Film Competition encourages tomorrow’s filmmakers to create films that explore the human journey by artistically expressing hope and respect for the positive values of life. The competition is open to enrolled high school students and represents another way that Heartland is inspiring positive development in the lives of today’s youth. Your contribution helps make this program possible.
F.I.L.M. Project
Formed in cooperation with the National Collaboration for Youth, the F.I.L.M. Project seeks to develop youth-oriented programming options in support of Truly Moving Picture Award-winning films that feature a literary component, films such as Where the Wild Things Are, How to Train Your Dragon, and Flipped. Mentors, educators, after-school workers and parents have all benefited from F.I.L.M. curricula, and your support ensures the program’s continued success.
National Public Relations
A strong public relations strategy helps to promote the initiatives of Heartland by informing educators and youth leaders about the Heartland Institute which positively influences youth through hands-on involvement and learning. Your contribution will help Heartland reach these target audiences and educate them about the existence of Heartland programs, connect them with the benefits offered by each, and equip them with the necessary educational resources.
Venture Fund
Imagine having the capability to put books and DVDs in the hands of under-funded youth organizations that don’t have the basic resources necessary to take advantage of the F.I.L.M. Project’s free assets. Imagine having the resources needed to reward groups by sending them Truly Moving Picture Award-winning films when such organizations aren’t financially able to take part in this experience that they so deserve. Imagine a dynamic online community that would make Heartland Institute’s streamed filmmaking workshops as interactive and engaging as attending in person.
Through significant, grass-roots methods, the Heartland Institute has the ability to reach America’s youth by positively impacting them in the ways that matter most. Your support will allow Heartland to designate and set aside funds to be used specifically for pursuing future opportunities as they arise–opportunities that will result in meaningful connections being made with the youth of America.
