Truly Moving Pictures Featured on Filmspotting

August 30, 2006

Based in Chicago, Adam Kempenaar and Sam Van Hallgren host Filmspotting, a movie-review show for the MP3 generation. The self-professed movie junkies review new releases on a weekly basis, and their show, with over 120 episodes, has an audience of listeners from all over the world. Now, Truly Moving Pictures makes an appearance on the show, highlighted in their most recent Top 5 list.

Every week, Adam and Sam create individual Top 5 lists on any range of movie-related topics. They've covered everything from "Top 5 Charactor Actors" to "Top 5 Movie Soundtracks." This week, they decided to feature the "Top 5 Movies that Make Us Cry." Playing off of Heartland's own description of Truly Moving Pictures (films that move you to laughter, to tears, to make a difference), each Top 5 included several films recognized as Truly Moving Pictures.

Among Adam's selections that appear on The List are Cinderella Man, Field of Dreams, The Rookie, and Forrest Gump. Cinderella Man and Field of Dreams also appear on Sam's Top 5, as well as Truly Moving Pictures Hoosiers and It's A Wonderful Life.

Visit Filmspotting to get today's show, past episodes and to subscribe for future ones. There are message boards where you can speak up, and an email newsletter to sign up for, too. Filmspotting has proved so successful that Adam and Sam can now be found on WBEZ, Chicago's Public Broacasting station, the last Saturday of every month.

Heartland welcomes Filmspotting listeners to Truly Moving Pictures and would like to thank Adam and Sam for so generously featuring us on their show.
