Montine McLeod, a world-weary flight attendant, and Omar Hassan, a prematurely wise 10-year-old Pakistani-American boy, connect with one another amidst the chaos of September 11, 2001. When Montine discovers the boy’s direct personal link to the terrorist attacks, she instinctively embarks on an unsanctioned cross-country road trip to help Omar discover his uncertain future. A look at the heartbreak of 9/11 through the eyes of two strangers forced together by tragedy and fate, The Space Between captures the powerful, raw emotion that gripped the nation in the hours and days immediately following the attacks.
